This might stir the pot the wrong way for both their haters and their lovers, but there’s a school of thought that says Zooropa might have been the last properly great U2 album… Celebrating thirty years since its release, the band are reissuing the sequel-of-sorts to Achtung Baby this October, coinciding with their bonkers residency at a giant digital sphere in Las Vegas that might never have been dreamed of had U2 not travelled around in a giant lemon while touring this very record.

Put it this way, this is the album that spawned U2 classics like the undeniableStay (Faraway So Close), the falsetto party of Lemon, the sultry R&B(ish) ballad Babyface, and the monotone Edge-led unlikely hit that is Numb. Heck, there’s even a track where Johnny Cash takes the lead vocal. Well worth a revisit, this time on “Lemon” yellow vinyl! – Flying Out

Celebrating the 30th anniversary of U2s Zooropa, October 2023 sees the release of a limited edition coloured vinyl pressing of the Grammy-award winning album to coincide with the bands performances at the Sphere in Las Vegas.

Initially intended to be just an EP, Zooropa became a fully-fledged album with 10 tracks recorded in six weeks in 1993, making it the fastest U2 album ever produced. Produced by Flood, Brian Eno and The Edge, the album went to Number 1 in the UK, USA, Ireland, Japan, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Italy, Sweden, Austria, France, Switzerland, Germany, Holland, Norway, Denmark and Iceland and featured the singles Numb, Lemon and Stay (Faraway, So Close!).
