AU PAIRS Sense And Sensuality (Released in 1982, Sense and Sensuality marked the second and final album from Birmingham’s pioneering post-punk group Au Pairs. Stripping back the raw political edge of their debut in favour of funkier rhythms and a more personal lyrical focus, the band introduced synths and horns to expand their sound – moving confidently into dance-punk, cabaret swing, and experimental art-pop. Tracks like “Instant Touch,” “Tongue in Cheek,” and the kaleidoscopic “That’s When It’s Worth It” showcased a fearless evolution in both style and substance. Though it only briefly charted in the UK, the album is now rightly recognised as a classic of the genre, celebrated for its intelligent commentary on sex and gender politics wrapped in adventurous post-punk. This edition is pressed on 180-gram Translucent Magenta Vinyl, limited to just 750 individually numbered copies. Picture sleeve with original cover artwork, gold hype sticker and an insert.
