We dont mean to dwell, but we also cant help ourselves: Symbolic isnt just one of Deaths best albums, but one of death-metals most accomplished musical achievements. Chuck Schuldiner had been steering his innovative outfit for a dozen years by the time they released their sixth full-length in 1995. While Symbolic reflected the bulldozing rhythms and teeth-bearing aggression of their early days, it simultaneously wove infectious melodies, progressive dexterity and jazz-fusion-filtered leadwork into the fabric of Deaths heaviness. The heights they climbed on the epic Crystal Mountain alone make Symbolic an essential Death masterwork like no other.

Celebrate 30 years of Death’s critically acclaimed album Symbolic with this black vinyl reissue.
